Aims and Scope
Infections in Children (ISSN:) is a quarterly peer-reviewed open-access journal focused on concise, clinically relevant advancements in pediatric infectious diseases. The journal publishes high-quality case reports, case reports with review of literature, teaching files, and research letters (viewers’ choice), providing a platform for clinicians and researchers to share insights on unusual, challenging, or instructive infections in children. Our aim is to highlight real-world clinical scenarios, diagnostic dilemmas, and therapeutic innovations related to bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic diseases affecting neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. The journal serves as a dynamic resource for pediatricians, infectious disease specialists, and global health professionals, fostering rapid dissemination of lessons learned at the bedside, relevant for both hospital and community-based practice. Infections in Children bridges the gap between clinical practice and research, with a commitment to improving patient care through education and evidence-based case narratives.
Publication Charges
There are no charges for the submission and processing of manuscripts. The journal is fully open access and allows free and unrestricted access to all its articles.
Acceptance Criteria
Infections in Children will prioritize practical relevance in manuscript selection, publishing only case reports, case reports with literature review, teaching files, and research letters that offer actionable insights for clinicians. Submissions must highlight novel diagnostic challenges, rare presentations, therapeutic innovations, or epidemiologically significant findings in pediatric infections. Case reports are considered only if they describe a new clinical entity, an unusual manifestation of a known infection, or a practice-changing observation. All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts selected for their subject-matter expertise. Acceptance is based on scientific rigor, educational value, and clinical applicability, not the direction of results.
